Case number 10        Helen's Case Return to Case Studies
Helen at 18

"The Good Times"

Helen at 18 years old. a happy,  normal young girl.
She was very attractive, tall and slim weighing only 10.5 stones. At this time she had been prescribed no medication of any kind. This was all to change within one year when she came under the dubious care of a local psychiatrist

"The Bad Times"

Helen at 21 years old after she had been prescribed Melleril. The devastating adverse physical effects of this powerful  anti-psychotic drug had become apparent. She had changed out of all recognition, her weight reaching  22 stones.
We are amazed that she was still able to smile!

  "Return of the Good Times"

Helen at 24 years old. She had now been prescribed Bromocriptine
and had regained her normal weight  (10.5 stones) and appearance. Helen is photographed at a social event looking very glamorous and enjoying life. She had  6  very precious good years.

"Return of the Bad Times"

Helen at 30 years old.  She had been taken off Bromocriptine without any explanation and the grotesque physical symptoms had all reappeared. She now weighs at least 20 stones, is 'muscle bound' and has little flexibility. Again, we are amazed that Helen is able to smile. She is on no drugs.
